Tech team Malawi-bound with Habitat for Humanity

A team of 12 employees from Belfast headquartered tech company Neueda will visit Malawi, Africa, this week to help charity Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland build homes for families in need.

The company has raised £33,000 for Habitat for Humanity NI ahead of the trip, all of which will go towards the charity’s work supporting orphaned and vulnerable children, building homes, facilitating training on HIV and malaria prevention, and encouraging will writing.

CFO at Neueda Steven Creighton, said: “We are privileged to have the opportunity to help Habitat NI carry out their important work to improve living conditions for families in Malawi.

“The team and entire company have shown great commitment to fundraising activities and a real enthusiasm about the upcoming trip to Malawi, which will undoubtedly be a rewarding experience for all involved. I would like to thank our customers, partners and most importantly our staff, for their ongoing support in helping this worthwhile cause.”

One of the families that Neueda’s team will be helping in Malawi is that of Rose (aged 32). A widow and mother of six from the Salamu village, Rose’s home collapsed last year and since then the family has have moved from one place to another searching for somewhere to live. With help from well-wishers in her village, Rose has managed to construct a temporary hut to live in, which is made of maize stock, grasses and timber.

This support, combined with the significant funds raised by the company, will make a lasting difference to communities in need.”
