Tech director recognised for leadership excellence at IOD Awards

P addy O’Hagan, Chief Operating Officer at tech company Neueda, has been named Director of the Year in the Emerging Business category of the 2018 IOD Director of the Year Awards, sponsored by First Trust Bank.

Neueda, which specialises in large-scale software projects for the public and private sector globally, last year announced an investment of £12m to create 165 new roles; opened a development centre in Spain to expand its international customer base and established a Board to help drive its vision for growth.

Paddy was recognised for his contribution to growing and supporting the talent pool at Belfast-headquartered Neueda and leading the company’s strategy to sustain operational excellence as it continues to scale internationally.

Speaking about his award, Paddy O’Hagan said:

“This award is not only an extremely proud personal and professional achievement for me, it is also a reflection of the unique culture of leadership, openness and ambition that we’ve built within Neueda.

“Helping cultivate and maintain that culture, as well as fully harnessing the potential of our talented workforce, is a core element of my role and crucial to the success of our international growth plans.

“Thankfully, our unique business model continues to deliver results, as Neueda looks set to grow by a further 35% this year to more than £25m, with over 50% of our business now coming from our international customers in Dublin, London, New York and Chicago,” Paddy said.

The IoD First Trust Bank Director of the Year Awards recognise excellence in leadership in the private, public and third sectors. They focus on the individual’s achievement, the importance of the director’s role in the community and the commitment and expertise which contributed to the success of their business, and the Northern Ireland economy, over the past year.
