Showcase - General Election 2017

Showcase - General Election 2017

What a difference a year makes! Who would have thought this time last year that:

  • David Cameron would not be Prime Minister (or even an MP).
  • George Osbourne would be an editor of a newspaper and, shortly, wouldn't even be an MP.
  • The UK would vote to leave the EU.
  • And of course, a certain former TV host would be the President of USA.

For anyone that knows me you will be aware of my love of the game of football and my keen interest in data. So I wanted to focus today's showcase on the Premier League title race (which is just about still alive). Unfortunately the team that I support (who I will not name, but plays in Red and is not from Liverpool) is nowhere near the challenge this year. Chelsea are now 7 points clear with 8 games to play and based on their form and remaining fixture list it is highly likely that they will be League Champions at the end of May.

An area that our Analytics team frequently searches for is open data, and thinking of new datasets that would enrich information that is currently available. So I thought rather than do a blog around utilities, manufacturing et al, our first showcase blog is going to centre around global earthquakes

Data Discovery - Football Statistics

Data Discovery - Football Statistics

Over the last 5 years the amount of data collected and analysed has vastly increased in the football world with organisations such as Opta being heavily used by the media, fans and the clubs themselves to drive performance. In this blog I will briefly look at the performance of the 'top 6' sides in the Premier League so far in terms of shots and goals (after 20 games of the season).

Why move from QlikView to Qlik Sense?

Qlik Sense was released in 2014 and was positioned as being the next generation of data visualization and discovery. Over the last two and a half years it has matured and is now in the position to be an Enterprise level product and has integrated a number of QlikView's core functionality. Neueda are now being asked regularly by our customers why we should move from QlikView to Qlik Sense.
